Tear Down That Wall

As some of you may know, I was having a major problem with the Wall Scratchings constantly getting spammed. I calculated it to about 10 messages an hour. I did have a spam blocking tool (one of those images, where you type in what you see), but that blocked my shortcut I had made on the right side here, to the Wall Scratchings, since I could not produce a new image everytime someone signed it.

Which led me to a difficult decision...I had to tear down the wall.

That wall, while some may think is silly, is the friggin heart of this site.

It always has been.

It is the only thing that survived all the changes, and evolving this site has been through in the past 10 years.

I've changed the sites name, layout, graphics, theme, even the content....but that wall has always been there. It's really the only way I know people are even paying attention.

But even though that wall has been torn down....a new one has risen.

I went hunting for a replacement, since I cannot live without feedback from readers. I considered getting one of those trendy comment boxes that I've seen around other sites....but it really isn't my style, and goes against my personal views of my own originality.

I spent a long time searching.

Actually....I didn't....I spent literally 48 seconds.

Turns out, the people who originally made the coding for my former wall, also make the exact same thing under a different name. I went to readjust my coding for the shortcut (to the right....sign the wall bitch!), and I only had to change 1 letter.

The reality is, any longtime, loyal reader won't even notice a difference (because there is none), except that 5 years of comments are now gone....but can be revisited on the actual Wall Scratchings page.

I wanted to get everyone up to date on this, because I know it's been a problem for a while.

Hopefully...it won't happen again.

But only time will tell.
