A Tribute To Chad

The clock is ticking on Chads time left here in the grand state of Ohio. You regular readers may remember Chad as that douche bag who talks shit about Whiteboystyle.com, and thinks he's right about everything. Yet, underneath that scruffy douche bag exterior, lies...well....just a douche bag.

I'll be serious for a moment. Chads one of those guys that you either love, or hate. I've always had respect for his "I don't give a fuck what you think of me" attitude towards the world. He has always been himself, and never let anyone change who he is. He and I have had a lot of years together. Good times, bad times, a few times I think neither of us remember, and we've always had each others backs.

Sadly, this isn't the first time I've had to watch him wander off to the real world. We went through this back in 01' when he left for Kent State, where he learned how to play hackey sack, and new techniques for creating homemade bongs! This time, however, he's leaving for a real purpose. That purpose is to learn new photography skills, make some real money, and pray he never lands in Columbus, Ohio ever again. Although, he'll probably just end up being a porno director who drinks too much, plays hackey sack, and makes homemade bongs.

Only time will tell.

So, Chad, I know you got another 2 or so weeks left, just know that you'll be somewhat missed, and I'm sure our paths will cross again someday. Hope you enjoy Cali!

What a long, strange trip it's been.

Stop Abusing Digg

I've been doing a lot of surfing the past few days. I've been getting hit with a regular case of writers block, so I was looking for something to inspire (anger) me, in hopes to make a post out of it. After visiting close to 75 different blogs the past few days (none worth mention), I began noticing a strange trend.

It would seem, that some of you are so convinced that Digg is going to wipe out the cobwebs on your stat counter, that you submit every single thing you write to them.

I like Digg, I think the boost it can give you is great. But let's be realistic people, writing an update for your blog about you going to the mailbox to check the mail, is not going to send you any traffic from Digg. Nor is the story about your dog waking you up by licking your toes, and if that actually is sending you traffic, it's probably not the kind you want.

Creepy...

My point is, Digg should be saved for special occasions, much like busting out the ball gag, whips, and zipper face mask in the bedroom. If you do it every single friggin time, it loses it's edge.

That, and when you have a 130 articles posted on Digg, and your combined Dugg count for them all is 0...that might be a sign that it's not working, and you should try something else.

That, and it really bugs me, so stop!
